during operative and other invasive procedures by/xc2/xa0/n * Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources./xc2/xa0/n * Demonstrating safe operating of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation./xc2/xa0/n * Performing accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items./xc2/xa0/n * Speaking up with safety concerns acting as the patient/xe2/x80/x99s advocate./xc2/xa0/n * Handling specimens according to
