Job Title: Senior Product Manager Public Sector

Job Summary:

Iron Mountain's Global Technology Organization is looking for a Senior Product Manager who will be responsible for building innovative digital solutions for our global customer base. The Senior Product Manager will be part of the regional North America and Global Industries product management team who will work with the agile development teams engaged in designing and building new products and features.

An ideal candidate for this role must be a passionate, team-oriented problem solver who understands and differentiates between what users want vs. what they need to create industry leading solutions. They should demonstrate a hybrid of business and technical acumen and understanding of consumer centricity to enable digital experiences.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience managing Public Sector products ideally a branch of the Federal Government
  • Deep domain knowledge in Public Sector such as IRS, USCIS, Executive, Treasury or related
  • Ideally 5-10 years' experience developing a product vision, articulating a clear roadmap, defining & writing user stories and acceptance criteria for a Software Development team engaged in building on cloud native digital solutions
  • Experience building 0-1 products
  • Experienced in software development lifecycle (SDLC) including defect tracking and requirement management systems (e.g., Jira, Gitlab, Confluence, etc.)
  • Well versed with design thinking techniques and has experience leading design thinking workshops with internal stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, not requiring significant managerial direction
  • Adept at adjusting to changing circumstances quickly and professionally, comfortable with navigating ambiguity, and passionate about driving change
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills combined with technical acumen
  • Extensive understanding of Agile methodology or previous experience, implementing Agile is highly preferred
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Possesses ability to manage multiple initiatives and balance the need to work strategically and hands-on

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define the product strategy with a focus on revenue maximization
  • To gather design inputs from cross-functional stakeholders, including product management, marketing, development , customer support, IT/Imaging operations, billing , scrum master, project management, and development team members.
  • To lead or participate in software scrum ceremonies and associated meetings and communications to stakeholders.
  • Managing requirements, use cases, documentation, and user stories for the current sprint as well as refining and preparing for subsequent sprints.
  • Software release planning & tracking:
  • Build, refine, and maintain the product backlog
  • Responsible for user story definition, writing acceptance criteria, providing clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates, sprint planning, story sequencing, and drafting the team's specific objectives for the upcoming sprints.
  • Provide input on test strategy and test cases, being an advocate of quality solutions that meet or exceed defined customer expectations.
  • Manage and track release tasks & deliverables.
  • Perform reviews with internal stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle to ensure alignment on solution designs and requirements.
  • Holds self and project team accountable for their deliverables to ensure timely, cost-effective project execution.
  • Prioritized backlog, grooming, user story definition and Agile support: either individually, or in partnership with stakeholders, create, maintain, and prioritize a well-defined backlog with requirements for work and project management features and capabilities which can be easily understood by the development team.
  • Proven ability to translate that plan into feature and user story development that spans multiple agile program increments. Attend agile ceremonies including daily standups, planning, and retrospectives, working in partnership with technology teams on execution.
  • Project execution and leadership: in partnership with the project teams, drive, negotiate, and prioritize activities and problem solve to mitigate risks to meet business commitments by staying on-schedule and within budget. Lead, collaborate with, and motivate a cross-functional team of stakeholders, project managers, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, and testers to build, execute and release features in alignment with strategic programs and automation initiatives.
  • Testing and deployment: Review and support the development of user acceptance test plans with the development teams to ensure a quality and defect free deliverable to the users.
  • User training and change management: Collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to create clear and concise training materials and procedures with the appropriate amount of detail, and process-maps, to train our users and stakeholders.
  • Develop change management plans and socialization efforts to support adoption and ensure business readiness for new and enhanced tools, processes, and functions.
