The R&D Medical Marketing Engagement Manager in Beauty and Skin Care spans many players, with many objectives of importance.

Dermatologists are the fundamental underwriters of all ultra-premium claims equity in Skin Care for Face and Hand & Body. Ultimately, all influencers whether print journalism, social media, digital channel etc. will take their steer from what is accepted in the Dermatology community, regarding:

  • The efficacy of treatments for sensitivity, acne, eczema and dryness, impaired barrier function etc.

  • emerging changes in suitability for particular treatment strategies.

  • Emerging ingredients of concern

  • Emerging novel treatment interventions

  • Boutique innovation selection and management and OI for novel formats and interventions

Developing, and executing, a strategic approach to this broad ecosystem is therefore critical, in terms of:

  • Engagement strategies

  • Technical Advocacy strategies

  • Development of 3P providers of capability and technology

What You'll Do

  • Devise the strategy for Dermatology engagement, the enrolment required, and the business plan to deliver

  • Engage with the various market-led Dermatologist engagement networks run out of brands around the world to ensure high quality R&D input for initiatives.

  • Co-ordinate and lead on behalf of the VP Skin Care the Expert Dermatologist Network engagement externally.

  • Own the Expertise-driven Publication Strategy for all external academic papers and expert articles to ensure coherence and amplification of Unilever s strategic growth of high-quality premium skincare interventions across all brands.

  • Engage with the various Issue Management Teams and PR Management teams from time to time as issues flare in market, to ensure an appropriate and effective engagement with Dermatologists in relation to these.

  • Build an asset bank for the super-premium, dermatologist sensitive assets to underwrite new brand activity across all markets, and in our New Brands Incubation Unit.

  • Provide expert driven steer into longer term Innovation programes based on Dermatologist engagement.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A minimum BS degree in science with relevant experience including 8+ years of solid technical grounding in Skin Care is essential to ensure credible engagement with the business and externals on dermatology.

  • 8+ years strong experience in engaging with external networks and managing high value external partners who are leaders in their own fields.

  • 8+ years strong experience in technical project leadership working at the direct business interface, in crisis mode or in rapid response mode, where outcomes are ambiguous.

  • Strong strategic mindset for distilling strategic direction change from a wide range of very complex market signals.

  • Proven track record in external speaking engagements with Dermatologists/KOLs/scientists and proven track record in written (posters, scientific publications) external communications

  • Ability to distill skin biological processes and effects of skin care technologies into dermatologist-relevant benefits and patient/consumer needs

  • Proven track record of high performance not only inspiring & motivating people to deliver results at speed but with an owner s mindset and taking personal responsibility & accountability for execution and results for self and leading others to do same

  • Successfully delivered outside in perspective to generate value in new opportunities for profitable growth

  • Brings the voice of the consumer into everything we do, by understanding the needs of the B&W consumer to ensure our brands/products are finding ways to better serve our consumers

Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
