ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

With headquarters in Mansfield, MA, our client is part of the Beer, Wine, and Distilled Alcoholic Beverage Merchant Wholesalers Industry. This is a fast growing, multi-state, multi-entity distribution and third-party logistics organization.

MP's Client is searching for a Buyer Planner who can procure wine, spirits and beer for existing items, new products and limited-time programs in the most cost effective and efficient manner. This position will be responsible for planning and executing supply chain activities including demand planning, forecasting, procurement and suppler management.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Purchasing

  • Manage the overall purchasing process and timely execution of Purchase Orders for existing and new suppliers.
  • Analyze forecast, actual sales, inventory levels and landed cost to determine the optimal purchasing strategy.
  • Manage day-to-day inventory planning for several hundred stock keeping units.
  • Monitor customer portals for new orders or changes to existing orders and review with sales team and suppliers.

Procurement

  • Oversee the execution of end-to-end logistics strategies, including rail, intermodal, ocean and OTR.
  • Consolidating purchase orders by transportation route and mode to minimize transportation costs.

Analysis

  • Develop and maintain order points, order quantities and safety stock targets at the item level.
  • Drive performance improvement. Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating process documentation.
  • Participate in key account review meetings to review operational KPI's.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Min. 2 years of purchasing, master scheduling and planning methodologies experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills
  • Experience with trade agreements, duty charges and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in application of regulatory requirements, duties, forms, licenses, and certifications affecting imported and exported products.
  • Experience dealing with Customs brokers and documentation requirements.
  • Team player with the highest level of customer focus.
