Overview









The PMO and IT Governance Specialist defines, develops, budgets, implements, documents and manages the bank's strategic and/or important technology projects as part of the AD Central PMO group. This role also helps implement project, financial and resource management processes across JRI-A /Americas IT Division. This individual collaborates with PMO project managers and specialists, and other IT professionals, communicates with clients, stakeholders and vendors, manages project issues, prioritizes workflow, allocates resources, introduces process improvements, designs and delivers training and drives financial governance.Leads the definition, improvement and implementation of PM processes and procedures, considering company and industry best practices (e.g. PMI) The anticipated salary range for this role is between $114,000 and $189,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.













Responsibilities









    Leads planning, execution and/or implementation of projects through all phases, tasks and timelines.
  • Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, funding and resource requirements.
  • Completes projects or assigned tasks in accordance with defined project management methodology.
  • Manages Project Budget & Resource allocation and utilization.
  • Manages clients/stakeholders (including subject matter experts from different Technical teams); determines needs, facilitates communication, and implements changes, where applicable.
  • Manages vendors, negotiates/defines initial contracts, resolves issues, and provides ongoing communication; tracks deliverables.
  • Participates, where necessary, in requirements gathering/elicitation, design and/or testing phases.
  • Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; implements changes where applicable.
  • Submits CR's (Change Requests) and SML's (System Maintenance Logs) as part of the change management process.
  • Ensures project closure activities are completed, including completion of all tasks, final updates to Schedule, closure of all risks/issues and archival of all documentation.
  • Leads the definition, improvement and implementation of PM processes and procedures, considering company and industry best practices (e.g. PMI).
  • Ensures that the defined governance processes are running smoothly and engages with relevant stakeholders to acquire feedback to drive necessary improvements.
  • Conducts Process Quality Reviews (PQRs), ensuring documented methodologies are followed, including documentation, requirements and best practices.













    Qualifications









    • Formal project management expertise and knowledge of project management methodology/SDLC/PLC processes in IT financial services environments.
    • Broad experience in managing complex IT processes and projects across multiple business and technical areas.
    • Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with business users, IT partners and vendors.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences.
    • Experience working with technology vendors to implement application, infrastructure or security product solutions.Work Experience: 5 to 7 years of comparable or relevant experienceEducation: Required: BA/BS Preferred: Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or Management Information System concentration is preferredLanguage Skills: Business fluency in EnglishSoftware Systems /Programming Languages: Microsoft Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Enterprise Resource Management tools; AGILE and ServiceNow SPM PPM experience is advantageous
