The Connecticut Humane Society is seeking an experienced MajorGift Manager in Fairfield County. This position will: Identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals,foundations and corporations for both annual giving and a capitalcampaign. Create solicitation strategies that include multiplephilanthropic vehicles. Steward planned giving prospects and legacy society members forcontinued relationships and strong gift commitment. Recruit, train and cultivate volunteers for leadershippositions. The successful candidate will add leadership and energy to themajor gifts program and capital campaign, setting the directionwith leadership and growing it to the match the success of theorganization's core programs, while also growing the legacysociety. This is a hands on position with a nice balance ofexternal donor activities and internal campaign management,including preparing agendas, developing meeting materials and thecoordination of cultivation events. The Major Gifts Manager must be passionate about the mission ofthe Connecticut Humane Society and able to express that passionarticulately and effectively. Doing so will require superiorcommunication skills, including the ability to write well, to speakeffectively in groups large and small and in one-on-oneconversations, and the ability and willingness to listen activelyand attentively. Superior relationship-building skills, bothinternally and externally, are an absolute requirement and a recordof success must be exhibited. This position will need to workcollaboratively and effectively with other department members andother senior staff. Frequent and intentional face-to-face donorengagement is a core ingredient to success in this role.
