The role
Contribute to the coordination and administration of global licensing activities across Aspens operating entities to support key areas of the business, including Insurance, Reinsurance, Legal and Compliance.

Key accountabilities
Contribute to preparation and implementation of annual licensing plan, ensuring this includes strategic and operational considerations for delivery and back-end reporting to Legal, Compliance and the business
Determine own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
Coordinate and administer, holistically and centrally, Aspens global, first-line operating entity license framework, including cross-jurisdictional oversight of registrations with local regulators and regulatory collateral and trust arrangements, in collaboration with Legals leadership team and local Legal and technical leads across Aspens key jurisdictions, as well as key business functions
Assist with maintenance of a robust licensing control framework, with Legal and Compliance (to include, without limitation, management of the licensing calendar to ensure timely co-ordination of all relevant filings and renewals etc.)
Engage with business teams to ensure strategic oversight of Aspens global licensing database
Assist with, and coordinate, the preparation of, and submission on a timely basis of, relevant filings and returns required to be carried out in those jurisdictions where our insurance and reinsurance operations hold licenses, including, but not limited to, data calls
Manage holistically the engagement of external law firms in connection with Aspens global licensing needs, to ensure efficiencies and consistency
Engage Legal and Compliance to ensure compliance of all licensing requirements activities relating to our global insurance and reinsurance operations
Assist US General Counsel where needed on non-licensing matters, including in connection with operational aspects of Aspens programs business
Identify and effectively control risks
Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations
Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, case law and regulatory requirements related to licensing and filings
Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant internal teams to provide excellent customer focus that meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders
Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant external parties where needed in connection with regulatory compliance of Aspens licensing framework
Coordinate the preparation of license filings and returns and ensure submission of the same in a timely manner
Maintain appropriate internal files, systems and databases in connection with Aspens licensing framework (including, without limitation, the licensing calendar)
Assist with preparation of relevant new and updates to license applications, monitor approval progress, and coordinate and oversee selected external providers and legal firms in this regard
Assist with the performance of internal reviews, in collaboration with local Legal leads and Compliance, to ensure compliance with regulatory license requirements.
Skills & experience
- Knowledge of industry approaches to Licensing and Filings in Property and Casualty insurance and reinsurance across differ
- Bachelors or Paralegal certification with suitable regulatory/licensing/ compliance experience is strongly preferred. Ent jurisdictions, including US, Bermuda, UK, Latin America and others.
- Knowledge of appropriate regulatory/statutory frameworks and how they impact on the insurance sectors
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
