Position Summary

We seek a confident IT infrastructure expert to build-out our IT department to support the company's fast-growth and favorable future outlook. A leader who is able to dive-in and tackle projects, as well as delegate, and drive items to closure.

If you are an experienced IT professional with proven planning and project execution successes, and effective collaboration or people management skills, this may be a great fit. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software used by our company to support our operations and data is secure and scalable. You will oversee a small team, and will be responsible for unifying our critical IT infrastructure, hardening our security and managing our internal network, and providing support for our staff, including oversight of the Help Desk.

The IT Manager will report to the Director of Information Technology and will plan for and oversee efforts to optimize the company's IT structure, systems, and security measures to ensure smooth operation of the company as we scale to meet increasing demand. Most servers and data are on AWS, we run Sage MAS 500 as our ERP, and we have several customized systems to support on-demand production of highly customized frame and awards products. Our workforce is primarily on-site with some hybrid and remote positions, with approximately 150 employees. The Director of IT will supervise, delegate and participate in execution of IT department plans, with emphasis on establishing effective processes, procedures, and workflow consistent with the company's size and needs.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Oversee IT operations and IT staff.
  • Develop strategy and policy as it relates to the organization's internal IT infrastructure, network security and disaster recovery across two adjacent locations.
  • Build & manage relationships with vendors, purchase materials cost-effectively and appropriate to business needs and scale.
  • Manage the IT Help Desk & related support software & systems.
  • Manage the activities of the help desk team to ensure the IT needs of users are met.
  • Attract, motivate, coach, and develop team members for high performance.
  • Enhance documentation of standard processes, procedures, and outage resolutions
  • Manage IT assets & inventory. Manage updates, security updates and other software installations for non-critical systems.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems, and seek out appropriate and cost-effective equipment, solutions, and software.
  • Manage computers & users including Active Directory and company-related system permissions.
  • Oversee IT Security, cyber security solutions, access & security log implementation.
  • Actively respond to & resolve system alerts, errors & issues.
  • Management of scheduled windows updates for critical servers
  • Oversee ongoing support, maintenance, and life-span management of all hardware, software, and network components and related processes.
  • Develop and overseeing the IT department's annual budget.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience working in IT operations, with 2+ years supervising technology employees or leading collaborative teams preferred, and track record of successful implementation of information technology projects and policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across the company and with external resources.
  • Motivated, eager, with a high sense of initiative & urgency to tackle projects and resolve issues.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory management, Knowledge of DNS and VPNs, and experience with Windows Server.
  • Ability to build and maintain thorough systems documentation.
  • Experience with Sage MAS ERP software is a plus.
