Lab Technician (Multiple positions)

Stratford, CT | Full Time


Wet Chemistry Department Technician:

Responsible for the preparation of environmental samples for analysis of inorganic contaminants. Analyses include Turbidity, Total Solids, Suspended and Dissolved solids, Ion chromatography including Nitrate and Nitrite, Cyanide testing, Nitrogen testing, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). Reports to the Inorganics Department Supervisor



Metals Preparation Technician:

Responsible for the preparation of environmental samples for analysis of metals in soil and water matrices. Additional duties include analyzing samples for Turbidity, preparing sample digestates, analyzing Mercury using Direct Mercury Analyzer (DMA) and Cold Vapor instrumentation. Reports to the Metals Department Supervisor.


Metals Instrumentation Analyst:

Responsible for the preparation of environmental samples for analysis of metal contaminants. Analyzing prepared sample digestates on Perkin Elmer ICP and ICPMS. Review of data and upload into LIMS. Preparing standards and logging standard information into LIMS. Peer review of analytical Metals data as needed. *Previous experience operating ICP and ICPMS systems required. Reports to the Metals Department Supervisor.


Organic Extractions Technician:

Responsible for the preparation of environmental samples for analysis of organic contaminants. Extractions include Semi-volatile Organic compounds, 1,4-Dioxane, Pesticides, Herbicides, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB), and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH). Reports to the Extractions Department Supervisor.



GC, CG/MS Instrumentation Analyst:

Responsible for analyzing prepared sample extracts on Agilent GC-FID and GC-ECD systems for Pesticides, Herbicides, PCBs, and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons. Review of data and upload into LIMS. Preparing standards and logging standard information into LIMS. Peer review of analytical GC data as needed. *Previous experience operating Agilent GC-FID and GC-ECD systems required. Reports to the Laboratory Manager.
