Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Combined Salary Range USD $77,800.00 - USD $86,400.00 /Yr. We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar space and everything in between.The Columbia Shipyard Engineer will be expected to become totally familiar with their system with a goal of becoming the SME (Subject Matter Expert) in all aspects of their assigned system. The chosen candidate will create, and research problem reports and follow them to resolution. They will be responsible for red line markups to prints and drawings as well as test procedures pertaining to their assigned system. They will also work with and support other technicians within GDMS and with GDEB to troubleshooting of the system. What youll experience: Technologies that arent just top-notch, theyre often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring whats next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as its discovered Responsibilities: Technical Lead for efforts for associated site Ensure proper configuration management of FCS equipment Identify risks/opportunities in the shipyard and raise to Site Lead Ensure documentation is being followed and sections marked as complete Enter OD redlines into the logger and redline matrix Ensure responses to local government/site leadership are consistent with HQ Follow system in place for I&C spares Create a Site Need to Know system to outline what new people need access to/have to track, etc Troubleshoot issues with sound engineering practices and guidance from Site Lead Attend local shipyard meetings, as required Provide feedback to Site Lead on responsiveness of HQ support Have access to the logger, SharePoint, Confluence, Y drive folders, SWSNET (TIES & ITP), etc. Ensure Logger items are closed out accordingly when issues are resolved May act as a site liaison (someone local to coordinate new team members, travelers for tiger teams, site visits, etc) Has an understanding of SPALT and Proofing processes and what is required from site to accomplish both Customer interface Participate as a spectator/minor presenter at customer meetings as required Demonstrate site capabilities to customer on site as required Develop personal skills and technical acumen Engage with Site Lead/Local SMEs to learn the system Engage with Site Lead/Local SMEs to understand programs in the pipeline for applicable site Develop an understanding of associated drawings, fleet doc, requirements,etc Become and expert on one installation or subsystem and develop material to make installation/test support more efficient that can be shared with others on the team.
