The Multilingual Learner Teacher plays a critical role in the districts' efforts to provide a welcoming and inclusive school environment for students including those for whom English is not their first language. The MLL role requires motivation and the ability to create and sustain an MLL program and work well with students, staff, and parents. This position acts as a liaison with district leadership for program oversight and stays current with current research and state guidance for MLL students. RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students, and provides both social and emotional support for Multilingual Learners (MLL). Administers or oversees the administration of specialized Multilingual Learner assessments per state requirements. Creates a Newcomer program consistent with state guidance.
