This role is eligible for a remote working arrangement pending the candidate is able to work in EST.The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with a strong background in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to join our team. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting our public cloud infrastructure to ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based applications.

Our cloud environment serves as the backbone for mission critical applications that support heavy equipment rental companies, construction companies, manufacturers, and more, enabling them to research and purchase essential parts to keep their businesses running smoothly. With our environment rapidly growing and evolving to leverage newer technologies, this position will play a pivotal role in driving and shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure.

In this role you ll:
  • Designing and build highly available cloud architectures using best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to design and implement technical solutions that align with business requirements and drive customer success
  • Building and deploying CI/CD pipelines, enabling efficient and automated software deployments
  • Establishing credibility and fostering impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, earning their trust as an advisor and technical expert
  • Advocating for as well as and demonstrating operational maturity and responsible engineering practices to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards
  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
Here s what you bring:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with AWS technologies
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with Linux
  • Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience with Containerization / Cloud Native
  • Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling
  • Proven experience in implementing cloud governance and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (eg Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and performance optimization
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have:
    • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
This job will require you to:
  • Provide technical leadership and continuous improvement in cloud architecture and operations
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams and customers to understand their requirements
  • Manage both Production and non-Production environments, overseeing projects, program initiatives, and sustainment activities
  • Take ownership of incidents, proactive monitoring, and automating fixes to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the cloud environment
  • Have excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong scripting and programming skills in one or more languages, such as Python, or Bash
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, standards, and security guidelines, ensuring compliance and security of the cloud infrastructure.
