Join our Strategic Sourcing team as a Category Manager Stamped and Fabricated Components for the Metals Category Management team, you will develop and execute strategic category objectives and provide the leadership for the categories managed by our global operations and supply chain teams. You will utilize your strong influential skills to work directly with the operating units, production facilities, R&D teams, technical sourcing teams, and also operations sourcing and supply chain. You will lead the category strategy, cost reduction initiatives, on-time delivery, quality, supplier performance, supplier consolidation/rationalization, and improve on supplier relationships allowing for vast and varied exposure across multiple disciplines and business units.

**A Day in the Life**


**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.**


The Category Manager Stamped and Fabricated Components will have overall responsibility for leading a cross-functional, cross-divisional category teams in the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities, in support of business objectives for driving improved supplier relationship management, improved service, quality assurance, advancing technology with R&D / new product development teams, risk reduction / mitigation, and delivering lowest total cost of ownership. This individual will be responsible for strategies that extend through the full supply chain including primary and sub-tier component suppliers.


**Supply Strategy Development & Commercial Agreements:**


-Support development & deployment of Global Stamped & Fabricated Metal category strategies.


-Negotiate cross Operation Network Agreements with suppliers including purchasing, development, supply, VMI, etc.


-Monitor Agreements for compliance and drive supplier accountability.


-Develop strong partnering relationships with Suppliers, multiple Manufacturing Operations Sites, Materials Quality Assurance, Materials Technology, Development/Technology/Research community, Technical Sourcing Specialists, Finance and Law Department to accomplish strategic objectives.


**Material Cost Optimization Roadmap Strategy & Innovation:**


- Drive year over year total cost of ownership improvement through the use of negotiation, contract management, competitive bidding, should cost analysis, supplier consolidation, and VA/VE.


-Identify and appropriately leverage technology innovation from commodity supply base.


-Utilize analytics & metrics to identify and organize suppliers accordingly.


**Supplier Performance & Relationship Management:**


-Lead Supplier Relationship Management process to further leverage our strategic partnerships to achieve our goals and objectives.


-Leads efforts for supplier analysis, selection processes, make/buy, outsourcing, & business transitions within your area of responsibility.


**Supply & Supplier Market Intelligence:**


-Develop and deploy Global market intelligence for Stamped & Fabricated products categories and provide insights to support network optimization opportunities.


-Research and analyze supply marketplace, maintain working knowledge of cost drivers, product/service pricing, market conditions and identify new and/or alternate sources of supply


**Supplier Risk Management:**


- Develop market & category risk reduction strategies in partnership with operating unit.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required


+ Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of Supply Chain experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Highly skilled in developing and executing negotiation strategies with strong organization and collaboration skills


+ Technical and commercial know-how of commodity market trends and manufacturing process technologies of the category


+ Skilled in developing category strategies, contract reviews, lean manufacturing, business case development, Best Cost Country (BCR) sourcing experience, and product/process transfer/change requirements in a regulatory environment, with strong presentation skills


+ Experience in a low volume and high mix demand for products environment


+ Negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills


+ Good organization, project management, and follow-through skills


+ Ability to prioritize, multitask and act in a proactive manner


+ Microsoft, Excel, Analytics, and SAP experience preferred

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
