Drive new sales growth of surface inspection technologies in the northeast region of the U.S. Our client is the global leader in designing, installing, and maintaining state of the art automated surface inspection technologies to detect, classify, and report defects in manufacturing processes.

Essential Job Functions include:

  • Lead all direct sales and business development efforts of surface inspection capital equipment and software solutions in the northeast, with concentration in the New England states.
  • Develop leads, prepare target account lists, and conduct on-site sales calls.
  • Establish relationships with customers, provide problem-solving or troubleshooting support, and enhance networking opportunities through referrals.
  • Conduct presentations at customer sites.
  • Prepare sales and pipeline reports to management via CRM software.
  • Work from a home office and travel as required (approx. 50-70%)

Qualifications include:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or process equipment to manufacturers
  • Working knowledge or prior sales experience with factory automation, AI, industrial inspection, X-ray and/or (CT) for computed tomography for industrial applications, CMM, metal detection, check weighing or process optimization software a PLUS, but NOT a requirement.
  • Competitive drive with track record of high achievements.
  • Strong computer application skills including Microsoft Office applications and web software navigation.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-70% overnight.
  • Valid passport and driver's license with good driving record.

Compensation for this position includes an attractive base salary, strong uncapped commission potential, and comprehensive benefits package with very little out-of-pocket. Candidates can live in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts or southern New Hampshire.

What success looks like:

  • To be successful you will need to be a hunter who enjoys finding and developing both current and new accounts
  • 3 years' experience selling factory process equipment, preferably custom high-end automation equipment.
  • Possess a winning and creative approach to work when identifying customer solutions.
  • History of maintaining and submitting appropriate records for forecasting quote status and expenses.
  • Proven ability to continually contact prospective customers based on leads from business directories, trade shows and/or other sources
  • Documented history of sales wins
