The Account Manager, ASCO Advertising Sales has primary responsibility for driving profitable sales in an assigned territory for the best brand in oncology publishing. Harborside is the exclusive sales agent for advertising, sponsorships, and custom content for the ASCO Publication Network of products, including the top two oncology-focused publications in the market: JCOJournal of Clinical Oncology and The ASCO Post. Your clients will include oncology-focused product or marketing managers in the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare agencies that support them. You will be responsible for overseeing the sale of products or services from beginning to end, serving as the direct point of contact with customers, and ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESRepresent the ASCO suite of publications and services effectively and aggressively while maintaining the standard of professionalism and excellence associated with the American Society of Clinical Oncology.Develop and maintain a sales pipeline of opportunities with the objective of meeting and exceeding sales goals.Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offeredCreate a sales strategy for new and established targets that makes you a valuable resource for all of your customers' needs.Work with clients to understand their objectives and make recommendations that showcase our offerings in a compelling way.Collaborate with the internal digital ad operations team to set digital strategy and to ensure that all commitments are met.Understand and communicate the organization's advertising guidelines to clients.Cultivate working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities.Maintain records of customer reactions within our customer relationship management (CRM) system, including leads, opportunities, quotes, research, emails, and more.Complete requests for information/proposals, client reports, and publisher reports as needed.Keep management, publisher, and society/association informed of sales activity, prospects, and results.Monitor both the competition and the overall market and stay current on new trends, pricing, products, and services.Contribute to a team-focused approach to sales, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure overall company performance.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.Required Experience:4+ years working in Account Management or Sales or other equivalent experience including:Strong digital sales capabilities are a mustFluency in Kantar readership studies and the ability to leverage data on sales callsExcellent communication (both written & oral) and presentation skills.Ability to manage own territory/account and monitor resources accordingly.Previous experience in healthcare advertising media sales.Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.Experience working in a CRM system; Salesforce.com knowledge is a plus.Able to quickly learn new skills as needed.Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities:Strong relationships in the oncology marketing spaceDeep understating of digital advertisingExperience in selling bundled packages, including targeted campaigns, banner ads, podcasts, roundtables, eNewsletters, microsites, direct email campaigns, video, other online products, and other special projects.Travel: Required travel will vary depending on the scope of the position filled.
