Dr. Sachibu Mohammed is a researcher, development practioner and an eco-entrepreneur. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Endogenous Development from the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana, Master of Science in International Development with specialization in Economics and Management of Rural Development from the University of Manchester, UK and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with specialization in Economics and Law from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. His research interests range from Indigenous knowledge and endogenous development in Africa, modernity/coloniality, decolonial praxis, transition design in indigenous African philosophies, regional disparities and the persistence of poverty in (Northern) Ghana and transformative eco-entrepreneurship. He has about 20 years’ experience in development practice having worked with reputable local and international organizations such as Hivos East Africa as a Country Engagement Developer for Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia between 2015 and 2017; SNV Netherlands Development Organization as an education and renewable energy advisor between 2008 and 2013, the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) as acting National Coordinator in 2007, the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) as a Policy Assistant in Essential Services and Economic Justice between 2007 and 2008. He is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kultures and Knowledges Enterprise, Green-Ef Eco-Business Village Ltd (www.greenef.com) and the African Research Centre for Indigenous and Decolonial Studies (ARC-IDS) Ltd. His work experience spans the private, public and civil society sectors and across seven out of the ten administrative regions of Ghana and West Africa. Having managed and coordinated several multi-stakeholder processes, donors, grantees, staff, clients/customers and partners at various levels, Dr. Mohammed has sharpened his competencies in planning and organizing, coaching and mentoring, management and coordination, communication and networking, capacity building, creating and managing change, research, advocacy and policy influencing, leading and supervising, project and program management, facilitation, interest-based negotiation, team building, results oriented management and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL). He managed two complex Private Public Partnerships. He is an active member and an award-winning entrepreneur with various business networks such as the Enhancing Growth in New Enterprises (ENGINE), SME Association of Ghana, the Ghana Participatory Guarantee System, The Ghana Seed Producers’ Association, an executive member of Social Enterprise Ghana, a board member of the Training & Extension for Conservation Agriculture in the Savannahs (TECAS), a member of the International Biochar Initiative and the first Executive Secretary of the Climate Innovation Enterprise Network of Ghana (CIENOG - https://cienog.org/team-member/dr-mohammed-sachibu/) of the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) where his organic home garden initiative worn him one of the prestigious green business innovation entrepreneurship awards in Ghana - http://www.ghanacic.org/clients/green-ef-eco-business-village-ltd/). As an executive member of the Ghana Social Enterprise Foundation (SE Ghana), Dr. Mohammed and his company Green-Ef is the regional lead organization for the Social Enterprise Ghana in the Savannah Region of Ghana.
