Cox Automotive is seeking a Director of User Experience to lead a UX team that works closely with product and engineering teams to build best in class software for the automotive industry. You will have leadership capabilities to manage multiple teams across functions and locations while delivering on aggressive deadlines. In this role you will be an advocate for user centered design techniques, data driven decision processes and high-quality aesthetics - all while being the conduit to senior executives on the status of projects across a broad assortment of product families. You must be a creative thinker and self-starter who can manage a team driving ideation and execution. As a product design leader, you will also demonstrate vision and strategy, well-honed judgment, and a high bar for quality.

- Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the user experience
- Work closely with the product team as stakeholders to create best in class user experience while driving measurable results
- Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to define priorities, build consensus, and coordinate design schedules across multi-discipline teams
- Drive business case development for strategic technical projects
- Lead, mentor and guide UX Designers and UX Architects
- Demonstrate thought leadership by contributing subject matter expertise in the areas of usability research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, content, UX best and online behavior
- Own contract and vendor negotiations and management
- Drive executive sponsorship by connecting and communicating how design activities align with business goals
- Implement cross-application and cross company user experience design standards

Qualifications:

- BA/BS degree in related field 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years experience in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- 5+ years leading UX teams in an enterprise environment
- Experience establishing, leading, and inspiring user experience teams through mentoring, collaborating and coaching
- Experience in iterative software delivery methodologies like Agile and SCRUM
- Demonstrated ability to drive designs that achieve business results
- Passion and experience working with engineering, product and marketing teams
- Extensive experience in research and new product development utilizing Lean methods
- Knowledge of current UX design strategies and trends across web and mobile platforms
- Deep understanding of web and mobile technologies; CSS3, HTML5, responsive and native mobile architectures
- Eye for design details and skills facilitating visual reviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
