TITLE: Client Technologies Administrator
Location: New Haven CT
Compensation Range: ( $40.00 - $50.00 hourly )
The Client Technologies Administrator will coordinate, install and maintain the efficient and effective functioning of the hardware, software, and network systems for a research lab/department. The Client Technologies Administrator will also apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a field of specialization to complete difficult assignments.
What You ll Do:
Responsible for the planning and delivery of customer support services including installation, consultation , troubleshooting, user assistance , and training
Resolve routine to moderately complex end-user issues in a timely manner through established protocol and troubleshooting; escalate as necessary
Provide guidance and explain policies and procedure s to end-users
- Imaging and other data collection packages
- scripting languages such as Python and PERL
- hardware including desktops, laptops, servers and specialty hardware for experimentation and analysis
Skills / Experience You Will Need:
Work closely with vendors and technical owners of applications to securely plan, deploy, and troubleshoot new or upgraded functions.
Maintain a list of key support contacts for each non-standard software or hardware device.
High level and/or working knowledge of departmental software such as:
(a) Enterprise Linux server administration
(b) Windows server administration
on-site administration and support for discipline specific applications and hardware that may include Mathematica, Matlab, LabView, ChemDraw, Origin, SolidWorks, Developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Developed interpersonal, written, communications and organizational skills
Working knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment
Demonstrated team performance skills , customer service mindset approach, and the ability t o act as a trusted advisor
Required Education & Experience :
Bachelor s Degree in related field and 2 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
