Title: Bioinformatics Scientist - High-Throughput Screening

SEngine Precision Medicine Inc. is a precision oncology company revolutionizing cancer diagnostics and therapies by pre-testing drugs on organoids derived from patient tumor cells. A spin-out from the world-renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, SEngine is leveraging over two decades of R&D in diagnostics and drug discovery. The company is commercializing the PARIS® Test, a next generation diagnostic test that predicts drug responses integrating knowledge of cancer genomics with organoids, robotics, and computational tools. SEngine’s CLIA certified PARIS® Test generates predictive drug sensitivity reports for patients with solid tumors. SEngine is also pursuing drug discovery via strategic collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and by leveraging its precision oncology platform.

SEngine Precision Medicine is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist with a background in high-throughput cell-based drug screening to join SEngine’s Bioinformatics Team. The candidate will maintain and improve data analysis pipelines and perform custom bioinformatics analyses to support our clinical and research teams. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding advocate for ensuring data quality with a meticulous attention to detail.

Since SEngine is a healthcare provider with the need to keep operations running daily and address potentially urgent projects, the candidate must be comfortable driving multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility and be ready to interact with multiple SEngine teams.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain and improve HTS data analysis pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain reusable R packages.
  • Process samples using data analysis pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams to perform compound library quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Perform custom data analysis for clinical and research teams.
  • Manage metadata about compound libraries.
  • Integrate third-party API data sources with internal services.

Required:
  • MS/PhD Preferred with BS/BA in Biology or relevant field, specifically cancer biology, molecular biology, or cell biology.
  • Experience with analyzing High-throughput drug screening data
  • Experience building data processing pipelines.
  • Experience with R and Git.
  • Experience with data visualization and statistics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams.
  • 2+ years of experience as a data analyst.

Any of the following is a plus:
  • Experience with R Shiny, Linux/Unix, Python, Docker, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and APIs.
  • Experience working in a Clinical Lab.
